Overview

Guilin at a glance

Guilin introduces southern China through limestone peaks, slow river journeys and rural landscapes. The city is a transport base, while nearby Yangshuo and the Li River deliver the scenery most travellers come to experience.

Use Guilin for arrival and the river cruise, then stay in Yangshuo for countryside access. Three or four days is enough for the Li River, cycling and a Longji terraces day; add a day if you want a slower rural stay.
